Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ) is an ancient Japanese, non-invasive healing art that balances the body’s energy using gentle hand placements rather than massage or strong pressure. It works with 26 specific “safety energy locks” along energy pathways, similar in concept to acupressure points, to harmonize mind, body, and spirit and ease pain, stress, and emotional or physical blockages.
This practice is based on the idea that when energy pathways become blocked, discomfort or illness can develop, and that restoring flow supports natural healing and inner balance. A unique aspect of JSJ is its emphasis on self-help: simple holds, such as gently holding specific fingers, can be used between sessions to support emotional balance, reduce worry, fear, or anger, and nourish organ function. Many people turn to JSJ for support with stress, fatigue, pain, and emotional overwhelm, as well as for a calming, meditative experience that reconnects them to their own innate healing capacity.
