Receive individual attention and create a yoga routine specific to your needs. After a few goal-oriented sessions, you will have the tools to apply on your own. Patrick began practicing yoga steadily in 1999, and was encouraged by his teacher to deepen his practice by immersing himself in an Ashram, which he did in 2003 receiving his certificate to teach. Since then he has studied with many great teachers who have taught him that anyone can do yoga, old, young, weak or strong. Strength and flexibility come as a bonus as we use the body and breath as tools to still a restless mind. The practice of Hatha Yoga can help you recognize your hidden physical and mental potentials. Through the continued practice, you will gain flexibility and strength. You will also learn to be more relaxed under otherwise stressful situations. Hatha yoga poses also massage and tone your internal organs, helping to prevent diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, and hypertension. They also bring balance to internal and glandular functions. Hatha Yoga can also help you cope with stress, relieve tension and deal with anxiety and depression. Yoga for Hip and Lower Back Yoga has proven to be one of the most effective therapies for physically debilitating diseases like arthritis. One such condition where yoga can be beneficial is hip pain. The hip joint is one of the most roughly used joints in the body. It is the joint that attaches the leg to the torso. The femur or the head of the thigh bone fits snugly in a socket which is made up of pelvic bone. Malfunction, injury or trauma to these structures may cause displacement of the joint and pain. Arthritis can cause inflammation of the hip joint, causing intense pain and inflammation accompanied with redness and swelling. Yoga can help provide hip pain relief with its poses and postures that are specifically designed to strengthen the hip and pelvic region. Each pose will have a specific effect on your pelvic region, causing alleviation of pain. Poses will help you regain your alignment and balance the body while strengthening the muscles and structures around the joints as well as helping to increase the lubrication of the joints. Hip pain exercises can help you get relief from chronic hip pain as well as delay further complications. Hatha Yoga for Neck and Shoulder Pain Improper spinal alignment and lack of awareness to the scapular region leads to chronic neck and shoulder pain. Applying correctional cues can reduce and/or eliminate these chronic conditions. A Yogic view is that the entire body must support the posture of the head and the movement of the arm. The legs, pelvis and spine are the foundation of the movement of the head and arms. Yoga trains you to consider movement as a whole. The lower extremities ground, the pelvis centers, and the spine lifts, essentially bringing the body forward under the head not the other way around. The head is supposed to be supported by the entire body. To make an appointment please go to our contact page. |
